Samsung Galaxy S20 Series Smartphones Launched – More Powerful And Expensive Than Ever

Yesterday Samsung announced its new Galaxy S Series flagship devices as planned – Samsung Galaxy S20. This time, the company went all-in on the performance and left no room for a budget flagship phone. Instead, the company showcases what is capable of despite setting different standards in terms of price.

Three different Galaxy S series launched – Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra, with the latter being the most potent.

The S20 Ultra is the ultimate power device for pro-consumers with massive memory, storage as well as battery capacity, plus a large screen refreshing at non-typical rates at QHD resolution. Starting at $1399, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is a have-it-all specced phone: 6.9 inches in size, 12 or 16GB of RAM, a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and a 108MP wide camera plus a fourth time of flight sensor.

Galaxy S20 Plus is the mid-tier phone of the new lineup with a 6.7-inch display, 12GB of memory, 128 or 512GB of storage and is powered by a 4500mAh battery with 25W fast charging.

The least possible Galaxy S20 series phone you could get is the S20, as of now. Therefore, specs here are a bit less, than in the other S20 devices.

The display here is not-so massive measuring 6.2-inches, battery capacity has been trimmed as well to 4,000mAh, but stocks similar 12GB memory like its elder sibling, the S20 Plus. Onboard storage here is capped at only 128GB, but you can expand via microSD card just like in the other two.

Generally, there has been some small identifiable design changes throughout the entire series like the rectangular camera bump, and lack of the dedicated Bixby button. Sorry, Bixby.

2020 is the year Samsung officially calls it quits on the headphone jack, as we welcome even more cameras onboard.

Similarities across the board include support for 5G, OLED HDR+ displays with 120Hz refresh rates, punch-hole cameras, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, wireless charging, fast-charging, WIFI 6, water-resistance and more.

For 2020, regular Samsung fans will have to dip a little more into the pockets to get the lowest flagship variant from the company. The basic Galaxy S20 model starts at $999. The S20 Plus and Ultra models are a bit pricier – going at $1199 and $1399, consecutively.
